Collaboration in Mathematics Teacher Education: the What, How, and Why of Mathematical Modeling

In this paper, we share our collaboration across the disciplines of mathematics and education to develop implement a mathematical modeling task for prospective secondary teachers. Through collaboration, identified three key components modeling: what, how, why. outline these from literature how each framed development implementation Sprinkler Task in content methods courses These show that is particularly fruitful space between teacher education.
